Have you ever pulled up to the gas tank and thought to yourself…"Now which side of the car is the gas tank on?"  Have you ever thumbed through your owner's manual to try to find the recommended tire pressure for your car? Have you been completely oblivious to a safety or convenience feature in your car you didn't even know existed?  Well maybe you think you haven't, but you might be missing something. Here are 5 car features not everyone knows about.Â
Where's the gas tank? Â
There is an easy way to always know which side of the vehicle the gas tank is on, even if you've never driven that vehicle before. Â You don't even have to get out and check. Did you know there's a little arrow by your gas indicator that points to which side your gas tank is on? Â I honestly thought everyone knew that, but I was surprised how many times I heard that when riding with someone in a vehicle.Â
Filling the Tires
Not sure how much air to put in the tires? You can thumb through your owner's manual if you want to but, did you know there is an easy and convenient way to tell? Inside the driver's side of the car along the bottom is a sticker that tells you tire size and tire pressure to be used.Â
Where's my VIN number? Â
Again, there's a sticker inside you vehicle either along the bottom on along the inside of the door when you open the door. It has your VIN number and more info about your vehicle for quick reference.
Adjust Your Seat Belts
Again, I thought most people knew this one but I was surprised to find out how many actually didn't. Did you know your seat belts can be easily adjusted for your height? Simply push the button down or in (depending on how yours is set up) and slide it to your shoulder height. Â Easy!
Trunk Release Latch
After 2002 all American vehicles are required to have an internal trunk release latch. This is a safety feature so if someone ever finds themselves in a trunk that has closed they can open it from the inside. Some of them even glow in the dark.Â
