How to Keep Your All-Black Car Interior Clean

Best Way to Keep a Black Car Interior Clean

In all honesty, keeping a black car interior clean is not much different than any other vehicle. The main problem with this hue is that light-colored debris typically shows up much easier. Warning: this may not be the best color option, if you frequently travel with small children.

Consider the following tips, to help keep your car's interior looking it's best. It's probably not as difficult as you think.

Upholstery

One of the best ways to keep upholstery clean is to invest in heavy-duty seat covers. When they get dirty, simply remove them, throw them in the wash and then reposition them. If that's not an option, a vacuum a lint brush will soon be your new best friends.

If your vehicle is inundated with pet hair, it's probably a good idea to remove as much as you can manually before vacuuming. This will help to ensure that your vacuum doesn't get clogged with excess fur.

Trying to remove ink on upholstery is typically difficult. But, in many cases, hairspray will do the trick. Vomit is another issue that you may have to deal with. The best way to clean the mess is to use a mixture of baking soda and water or club soda.

Dashboard

There isn't a commercial dashboard cleaner made specifically for black interiors. A quick and easy way to dust off your dashboard is to use either a coffee filter or a Swiffer duster sheet. Both of these things work quite well and you don't have to worry about exposing your kids to dangerous chemical residue.

If you're trying to get rid of stains, spray a bit of vinegar or other non-abrasive cleaner on the coffee filter. It won't immediately disintegrate like some paper towels and when you're done cleaning with it, you can still just throw it away.

Carpet

Believe it or not, ordinary window cleaner works well to remove things like coffee stains from your vehicle's carpet. First, blot up as much liquid as you can. If the stain remains, spray the spot with glass cleaner and allow it to set for 5 minutes. Blot again. The stain should disappear like magic.

These are a few tips to keep the interior of your car clean, without spending a lot of money or using harsh chemicals. Keep in mind, however, a certain level of elbow grease is required.
