Amusement Park Road Trip

Now that spring has sprung, we'll all be planning to spend more time outdoors. Thrill-seekers can't wait for their annual dose of rollercoasters and cotton candy, and if you live near the Pennsylvania area, there are some great amusement parks to check out! 

DelGrosso's Park and Laguna Splash: Opening to the public on May 5 this year, the park will thrill and feed you! Known as America's Best Amusement Park Food, DelGrosso's makes good on the title with daily food features such as fresh pizza, Murf's homemade potato salad, and more. A feel-good family fun park, DelGrosso's boasts everything from roller coasters to go-carts to a lazy river. There's certainly something for everyone!

Hershey Park: Calling all chocolate lovers! Hershey Park opens on Saturday April 6, so if you're into yummy treats, live entertainment, and exciting rollercoasters like the Fahrenheit and Great Bear, this park is for you! Hershey has an extensive water park great for exploring or relaxing, as well as many rides perfect for the youngest amusement park goers. And one ticket gets you into the amusement park, water park, and ZooAmerica, Hershey's 11-acre zoo. Talk about more bang for your buck!

Idlewild Park and Soak Zone: Named "Best Children's Park" and "Best Families Park" for a reason, Idlewild is a welcome return to the lazy days of summer. Opening on Saturday, May 18, ages zero to 100 will find something to love about this park, from the ball pit, wave pool, or Wild Mouse. With live entertainment for the kids and delicious food for everyone, no one leaves Idlewild without a smile.

Kennywood Park: Celebrating 120 years of fun, Kennywood opens to the public starting on Saturday, May 4. As a nod to the city's football team, Kennywood's grand opening of Steelers Country happens this year! With exclusive merchandise and a new rollercoaster, the Steel Curtain, amusement park and football lovers alike will be equally excited for Kennywood. Oh, and don't forget about those Potato Patch fries! Mmmmm!

Lakemont Park: Opening this summer, Lakemont is located in Altoona, PA and is sure to become your family's new favorite place to hang! Not only does the park offer rollercoasters and the Treehouse Water Park, but there's also a ton of space to get active thanks to the basketball and volleyball courts, mini-golf courses, batting cages, and playground! Bring Grandma so she can watch the kids while you hit the casino before heading home!
