2020 Jeep Gladiator at Reedman Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Springfield

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is a blast from the past but one that is reinforced with the tech of today, redesigned with decades of driving wisdom, and ready to crush all adversaries in its path! The 2020 Gladiator is no show pony and sports Tru-Lok electronic locking front & rear differentials, and can have a TrailCam off-road camera! That means Best-In-Class towing and payload titles within mid-size 4x4 crew cabs, robustness partially due to the choice of Rock-Trac 4x4 or the Command-Trac systems. The traditional fold-down windshield pairs up with the new back truckbed window area not to mention the sunroof and removable doors to create a one-of-a-kind open-air truck experience, unique in the glut of pickups out there today. Note as well the extraordinary 30-inches high of water-fording, HD Dana 44 axles, a sway-bar disconnect not usually seen in pickups, 33-inch off-road tires, and access to over 200 JPP/Mopar custom accessories. Hold onto the grab handles with both hands Jeep is charging full speed ahead!

Does the Gladiator have a lot of power?

The Jeep 2020 Gladiator rocks one of two engines at this time: a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 or a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine. These will be put with an evolved 8-speed automatic transmission with the caveat that there is also a 6-speed manual transmission for the 3.6L engine. Both engines sport Engine Stop-Start (ESS) technology and the powertrains can haul up to 1,600-lbs or tow up to 7,650-lbs when properly equipped. Even the grille slots on the front of the Gladiator are bigger, having been widened to let more cooling air into the engine bay! There is also a Mopar-made cold air intake that increases horsepower & torque, an accessory that complements the also available Mopar cat-back exhaust system.

What models are there for the Gladiator and how is the foundational design?

The 2020 Jeep Gladiator is available in these different trim configurations: Sport, Sport S, Overland and Rubicon. The Crew Cab arrangement highlights a long-lasting 5-foot steel bed with an enclosed outside power source and hearty unified tie-downs. It has a superior soft top and two hardtops to choose from, a fold-down windshield, and a 4th-generation Uconnect system. That system allows pinch-and-zoom, differing sizes for the touchscreen (7.0- or 8.4-inch), and integrates Apple CarPlay/Android Auto apps. Essentially it's the best of both the worlds of pickup and traditional Jeep because it has baked-in off-roading expertise as well as the work-a-day handiness of a trades vehicle. We're arguably not sure if there is a vehicle out there with more utility and capability than this one currently!

Are there over 200 parts made by Jeep and Mopar combined for this pickup?

Because Jeep has always been a highly-modifiable brand, it has partnered with Mopar, one of the best in the business to fashion factory-standard accessories under the name Jeep Performance Parts. Many of these are already available for the 2020 Gladiator, including head-turners like 2" Cylindrical steel tube doors and dual slide-out locking storage drawers in the truckbed! Look for possibilities like UV-reflective mesh & solid sun bonnets, 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels, a factory spray-in bedliner, "Moab" trails-logo all-weather mats, LED off-road 7" lights, truckbed-mounted cross rails, and special hood- & side-graphics. Note, in addition, 3 tonneau cover formats, a 2-inch lift kit, as well as steel bumpers that can house a winch!

Final Thoughts on the 2020 Jeep Gladiator.

And yes, a Launch Edition has been confirmed as well, as if you needed more reasons! This model sold out in one day (since there was a limited scope in number produced) but still, it's interesting to know about. Some of the highlights of that model are the 17 x 7.5-Inch Mid-Gloss Black Aluminum Wheels, a Rubicon with a Winch-Capable Steel Front Bumper, a Leather-Wrapped Instrument Panel with Rubicon Red Stitching, a Forward-Facing TrailCam Off-Road Camera, a Body-Color Freedom Top Hardtop that can be removed, an Alpine 9-Speaker Premium Audio System, Spray-in Bedliner, and a 115-Volt In-Bed Power Outlet. It keeps going with the Trail Rail System, Falken All-Terrain 33-inch Tires, the LED Lighting Group, and a helpful Proximity Keyless Entry. Safety features for that model include Blind Spot Monitoring & Rear Cross Path Detection Systems, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control too. But any model of the Gladiator is going to rule the roost, honestly, go on and give us a ring about them today! In the meantime, be sure to check out our current inventory of new Jeep vehicles!
