2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 Revealed

Enthusiasts of legendary American-made performance and power are going to love the latest news out of Dodge; the 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 has been revealed!  Unveiled on July 19th, 2018, this drag-specialized, street-legal muscle car was clearly designed with speedsters and the amazing heart of the drag community in mind. The iconic Dodge Challenger SRT Demon lends some of its high-performance drag strip technology, possessing the R/T Scat Pack with amazing speed, power, sound, and handling.  The name lends to the quarter-mile distance, 1,320 feet, this vehicle can travel in just 11.7 seconds at 115 miles an hour. This is the fastest naturally aspirated, street-legal muscle car available, and Dodge has made it into a one of a kind experience for both driver and bystanders.

The flying 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 is powered by the fine-tuned and specially crafted 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8 engine, roaring with 485 heart pounding horsepower.  The TorqueFlite 8HP70 eight-speed automatic transmission provides 475 pound-feet of torque, replacing the standard manual transmission that's found on the Challenger R/T. A TransBrake provides for break-neck take offs, locking the output shaft of the automatic transmission to hold the car stationary before the readying start-line.  This works in conjunction with a Torque Reserve system, controlling the exact fuel flow to the cylinders and controlling spark advance or timing to balance engine RPM and torque to maximize that amazing launch forward. Outputted power is hardly wasted by tire slips and squeals; all new specifically developed Nexen SUR4G Drag Spec 275/40R20 tires deliver exceptional grip upon the road surface of drag strip or street, performing consistent times with minimum burnout preparation.  

In support of this raring powertrain, the R/T Scat Pack 1320 adds an SRT-tuned three-mode Adaptive Damping Suspension, putting three Drag Modes at the fingertips of the Challenger's driver to personalize and optimize the weight transfer towards the rear of the vehicle for best launch traction.  Directly adopted from the Challenger SRT Demon, extreme-duty 41-spine rear axle half shafts delivers power straight to the rear tires for greatest take off, with a performance-tuned asymmetrical limited-slip differential to keep the race straight and stable. Tying everything together, the Brembo high-performance Brake Package with four-piston calipers provides a reliable and efficient stop, getting you back to the starting line as fast as possible for another go.

To the front fenders, illuminated Air Catcher headlamps, instrument panel, and the 8.4-inch touchscreen's startup splash screen in the gauge cluster all bare Dodge's legendary "Angry Bee" logo.  A long list of comfort features accompanies the great performance of the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320. Standards include dual-zone automatic temperature control, electric power steering, power driver's seat, keyless entry and startup, ParkSense rear park assist, and a rearview camera.  While usually, the R/T Scat Pack 1320 is only equipped with the driver's seat, the front passenger and rear seats can be added for just one dollar. Custom "Black Eye" high-impact exterior paint is tested out this year on the launch vehicle to gauge interest as a potential production exterior color.  Also available is the special 1320-themed color scheme on the Mopar Dodge Top Fuel dragster, commemorating the unveiling of the new Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 during the Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals.
