Both of these engine options are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front wheel drive. You can opt for AWD with both engines. The Sportage gets its highest fuel economy with the standard engine, coming in at 30 miles per gallon on the highway. When it comes to towing, the Sportage maxes out at 2,000 pounds.

It was definitely a tight race but other than offering a second engine option, there is just no way that the Sportage can compete with the 2018 Jeep Compass.
