2022 Grand Wagoneer vs Cadillac Escalade

Want a luxury SUV that doesn't sacrifice power? Then there are only two models you need to look at! The Grand Wagoneer and the Cadillac Escalade come with a ton of advanced tech and premium luxury materials while also coming with engines capable of blowing anyone off the line. There is a lot to love about both of these premium SUVs, but only one has the advantage. For the answer as to which one our team here at Reedman Dodge Chrysler Jeep of Springfield thinks you should be driving home, continue reading!

2022 Grand Wagoneer Power & Handling

Only one engine option will be available for the Grand Wagoneer when it launches, but it sure is a doozy! Under the hood lies a massive 6.4-liter V8 that kicks out a delightful 471 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque and comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. While we do expect more options in the future, such as a diesel engine or a hybrid, all versions of the Grand Wagoneer will have this engine. In addition to this powerful engine, the Grand Wagoneer comes standard with a Class IV towing hitch that improves the Grand Waggoneers towing capacity and allows you to haul 9,860 pounds. Also standard is a premium adjustable air suspension that will lower or raise your ride height depending on the driving scenario. You even get a Selec-Terrain system, which provides you with some exceptional ride comfort. Front-wheel-drive comes standard, but four-wheel-drive is available.

2021 Cadillac Escalade Power & Handling

The Escalade comes standard with a 6.2-liter V8 that kicks out 420 horsepower and comes with an automatic transmission. You have the option of a diesel engine, a turbocharged 3.0-liter four-cylinder that delivers 277 horsepower and has an automatic transmission. Both engines come with rear-wheel-drive, but you get the option of four-wheel-drive you choose. Towing for the Escalade reaches a fine 8,200 pounds, which is less than what the Grand Wagoneer offers. These engines are good, but they pale in comparison to what the Grand Wagoneer offers.

2022 Grand Wagoneer Features & Design

The Grand Wagoneer interior comes with a ton of premium materials made from wood and aluminum, which are an extension of the other eye-catching materials for the premium SUV, such as air vents and a metal rotary shifter. All of the seats come with premium leather and have a diamond-interior pattern in the stitching and perforation. You also get some amazing features such as four-zone climate control and front seats with 24-way adjustability, massage functions, and heating and ventilation, and seating for seven or eight passengers. Tech features for the Grand Wagoneer are plentiful, including a 12-inch digital cluster display, a 12-inch center touchscreen, a 10-inch lower touchscreen, and a 10.25-inch front passenger screen. You also get an incredible McIntosh audio system with 23 speakers and a massive 1,375 watts of power. All touchscreens come with the latest version of the Uconnect system, Amazon Alexa integration, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There is also a rear-entertainment system.

2021 Cadillac Escalade Features & Design

Five trim levels are available for the Cadillac Escalade, and some interesting features can be found on each. The Luxury trim starts things off, and it comes with full leather seating, keyless entry and ignition, heated front and rear seats, tri-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and front and rear parking sensors. The Premium Luxury trim adds to this with adaptive air suspension, a rear-seat entertainment system, and two performance packages with tons of advanced features with the Driver Assist Tech package and Performance Package. If you go with one of the higher trims of the Escalade, you'll be treated with massaging front seats, a leather-wrapped instrument panel, and black wheels, and a gloss black trim. There is a lot to like about these features, but the Grand Wagoneer offers more.

Conclusion:

While the Escalade puts up a good fight, it can't compete with what the Grand Wagoneer offers. We love the Grand Wagoneer's massive V8 engine, and all the luxury and tech features it provides more than we like what's on the Escalade. The Grand Wagoneer is finally here, and we can't wait for you to take a test drive! In the meantime, be sure to check out our complete Jeep inventory!
