2021 Jeep Wrangler vs 2021 Ford Bronco

For a number of years, brands have been introducing new off-roading models to compete with those already on the market. With so many models to look at, we understand that it can be hard to find the one that truly meets the needs of your day-to-day life and your adventures. This is exactly why we organized this comparison review. We have taken two of the most talked about off-roading oriented models, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler and 2021 Ford Bronco, and we are comparing all they have to offer. Read on below to learn more about the engine power and features these SUVs boast and which one we think you should drive home!

2021 Jeep Wrangler Power & Handling

The Wrangler packs some serious power in the form of four engine options. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 260 lb-ft of torque and 285 hp. Jeep offers two transmission options for this engine, a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed automatic. This engine is also outfitted with eTorque mild-hybrid technology for boosted fuel economy. The next engine is a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 that delivers 442 lb-ft of torque and 260 hp. Drivers can also opt for the available turbo 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that generates 295 lb-ft of torque and 270 hp. Both of these engine options are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The final engine is brand-new! This plug-in hybrid engine cranks out 470 lb-ft of torque and 375 hp. In addition to choosing an engine, drivers also have three 4x4 systems to pick from.

2021 Ford Bronco Power & Handling

There are only two engine options offered for the Bronco, already lagging behind the Wrangler and to make it worse, neither of them are hybrid or diesel. The base engine is a turbo 2.3-liter 4-cylinder that delivers 310 lb-ft of torque and 270 hp. The second engine choice is a twin-turbo 2.7-liter V6 that creates 400 lb-ft of torque and 310 hp. Ford pairs both engines with an automatic 10-speed transmission but the 4-cylinder engine does offer a manual 7-speed transmission option. There are also only two 4x4 systems offered for the Bronco.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Features & Design

In the 2021 model year, the Wrangler is offered in four trim levels and two body styles. The entry-level model, the Sport, includes features like fog lights, tow hooks, a fold-down windshield, manual door locks, skid plates, a 5-inch touchscreen,, 17-inch steel wheels, Jeep's Uconnect infotainment system, and removable doors. The higher trim levels add to the Sport with larger touchscreen options, body-colored exterior style elements, automatic climate control, alloy wheels, power windows, smartphone integration, all-weather mats, and parking sensors. The Rubicon model takes it a step further, adding off-roading-oriented features like an electronic disconnected front stabilizer bar, electronic front and rear locking differentials, heavy-duty front and rear axles, and rock rails.

2021 Ford Bronco Features & Design

The Bronco is available in a total of seven trim levels and two body styles. However, most of these trim levels are sparsely equipped, with just the basic features. Throughout the entire seven trim lineup, features consist of remote engine start, skid plates, an 8-inch touchscreen, unique graphic options, carpet flooring that will not hold up to off-roading, a premium sound system, and daytime running lights.

Conclusion:

Now that you have learned more about both the 2021 Jeep Wrangler and the 2021 Ford Bronco we know you are going to be driving home a Wrangler model. There is no way you can feel comfortable putting your money into a Bronco when it is severely lacking in every area from engine power and options to trim level features.
