What are the powertrain options for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee?

The 2021 Jeep Cherokee has three powerful engines available to come under the hood. Leading off the engine lineup is a 2.4L I-4 that gives off 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Next in line is a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 that kicks out 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The last available option is a 3.2L Pentastar V6 that provides 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque and offers a class-leading 4,500-pound towing capacity. The 2.4L engine comes in either front-wheel or four-wheel drive variants, while the turbocharged and V6 engines come with FWD, AWD, and Active Drive II options. All four-wheel-drive variants come with Jeep's Selec-Terrain Traction Management system with five selectable drive modes, Auto, Snow, Sport, Sand, and Mud. The ultra-capable Trailhawk trim with standard 4x4 adds Rock mode to the Selec-Terrain dial.

What trim levels and features does the 2021 Cherokee have?

Kicking off the 2021 Cherokee lineup is the Latitude trim. This brings on standard features like a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a rearview camera, ProTech I safety suite, 17-inch alloy wheels, and heated side mirrors. Up next is the Latitude LUX, which adds more comfort and convenience features like keyless entry/ignition, a V6 engine, remote start, Nappa leather upholstery, heated front seats, and windshield wiper de-icer. The Trailhawk is most at home far off the beaten path. Its Trail Rated capability is thanks to an off-road-tuned suspension, a factory lift, Selec-Terrain with Crawl Control and Rock mode, skid plate underbody protection, a locking rear axle, and all-terrain tires mounted on 17-inch wheels. The comfortable Limited trim adds adaptive cruise control, an 8.4-inch touchscreen, dual-zone automatic climate control, a powered liftgate, a self-dimming rearview mirror, and leather upholstery. The top-of-the-line High Altitude trim takes the Limited trim and adds a dual-pane panoramic moonroof and 19-inch alloy wheels. The special 80th Anniversary Edition adds Granite Crystal accents, exclusive features, Berber floormats, and commemorative badging.

What are the safety features for the 2021 Jeep Cherokee?

Jeep has designed all of its models to be as safe as they are comfortable and convenient. For the first time ever, Jeep's ProTech I safety suite is standard across the whole Cherokee lineup. ProTech I includes a rearview camera, electronic stability control, blindspot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, and forward collision mitigation with automatic emergency braking. Premium available driver aids include rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. Standard safety equipment includes a high-strength steel frame that channels energy away from the cabin, front airbags, front side airbags, driver's knee airbags, and front and rear side curtain airbags to provide all-around protection for all occupants.
